Economics and scheme appraisal

The Department for Transport, Scottish Government and Welsh Government are placing greater emphasis on transport appraisal. 

This informs decision making in an increasing climate of scarce public sector resources. Robust appraisal is required to provide the evidence base to demonstrate that particular interventions generate the optimal value for money solutions to transport problems.
