The Greater Manchester area is one of the UK’s engines of economic growth and is home to over 2.5 million people.  The Greater Manchester authorities have strived to ensure that its transport networks continue to support economic prosperity through investment in the Metrolink (tram) system, bus priority and bus rapid transit, the road system and rail stations.
